If youre planning on a road trip, one of the things you should plan is how to recycle or reduce waste. Your recycling methods need not fall down the wayside when you are away from home. Here are some tips that can help:
-
Do your research and find out if there are zero waste or eco-friendly groceries or convenience stores where you are going.
Also look for hotels or restaurants observing recycling methods and policies.
-
Invest on containers.
For toiletries, buy small containers to place your travel essentials. This is better than buying smaller sizes of these goods and ending up discarding the packaging once you have used up all the product.
-
Bring your own bottles.
Bottled drinks are often consumed on the road. Try bringing your own bottles and refilling them every chance you get. You can also bring a gallon of water and refill smaller containers when you need something easier to carry.
-
Put your trash in a recycling bag.
Practice recycling even when on the road. Separate your trash properly. If you cant help but buy disposable bottles and cans, which is really convenient for travelers, keep the empty cans and bottles and take them to a bottle depot in Langley once you get home. Collect the cans and deliver to a bottle depot in Langley such as BC Bottle Depot.
If you can find a recycling center in the area you are visiting, take the stuff you have recycled. If not, just bring it home. There are recycling depots in Langley that you can turn to for these matters.
