Recycling is already enough of a challenge without some misconceptions to throw people off. Make sure you are doing recycling right by correcting the following misconceptions and learning more about the proper ways to recycle stuff.
1. Plastic bottle caps cant be recycled.
Actually, you can. You just have to remove the bottle caps and separate them from the actual bottle. Ask your local bottle depot in Langley such as BC Bottle Depot if they also accept the caps. Not all the bottle depot in Langley you can find have the technology that is needed to recycle the caps because the caps are typically more difficult to recycle.
2. Pizza boxes cant be recycled as well.
Dont throw away the entire pizza box. You can still recycle the part that is not soiled by grease, which is the top portion. Cut the top portion and add it to your recycling pile.
3. Starting and ending recycling in the kitchen.
The kitchen isnt the only place where there are things to recycle. Many recycling experts say households do not tap into the full potential of home recycling because they only focus on the kitchen. Other parts of the home may have recyclable stuff too such as old electronics, paper and old clothes. Make sure you go through every room to scour for old stuff you can take to a recycling center.
Now that you know all these, its time to check your home and organize your recycling. Recycling not only helps the environment but also keeps your home clean too.
